It was a LOVELY Spring day when we met at Frank and Vince's farm!
As promised, lambs were newly born.
Aren't they sweet!
Two of them were orphans, being bottle fed in the basement of the home. Vince carried them up from the basement to see us in the sun porch, as we were spinning and knitting.
There sure is a lot of work and responsibility in the farm way of life!
And sheep weren't the only thing on the farm. Right there in the pen with them, was a big old Tom Turkey! He was displaying his feathers, which Vince explained, was not a welcome sign, but an indication that he is quite upset with visitors!
I can see that in his eye!
So we moved on to the docile chickens...
And the three little pigs...
And Wilbur himself.
This little pig was picked on by the other pigs in a new chapter of the book...they literally chewed his ears off!!! But he still has his friend, Charlotte spinning amazing webs above his head, so he will be fine!
As long as he stays away from the queen of the barn pig...Ruby!
She's got ATTITUDE!!!
Here's my absolute favorite barn resident.
A very friendly Rambouillet male sheep with fur that feels like butter and he was so tame he ate out of Vince's hand. I want to spin his fiber some day!
We're all proud of Pat! She got the hang of spinning on those lovely Kromski wheels! Until that day, she had only used a drop spindle. I think she knows what to ask for when she has a birthday next week!!!
We're not sure where our next meeting will be. If anyone wants to volunteer to host in May, let me know!
Happy Spinning!
